In addition to being a gorgeous setting, the Circle X Ranch offers one of our most challenging sheep dog trial courses. Thousands of acres of remote Mendocino County rangelands stretch beyond the mowed trial field, so if the sheep escape they may be gone for good. For this reason, only an Open trial is offered. On Saturday, May 20, 2023, Trial Judge Nancy Todd awarded X times High Point Champion Steve Moody top scores and a beautiful trophy buckle for his run with his dog, Cady Beth.
