Lambtown Demo

RESDA is back at Lambtown, this year, doing sheepdog demonstrations at the Dixon Fairgrounds. We will be looking for trustworthy dogs and handlers who are willing to interact with the public. We work our dogs on broke sheep in a small covered arena and speak directly to the audience. Different training levels of dogs are welcome (but they must be polite), as the variety creates conversation points.
We also like to have volunteers who can interact with the audience and answer questions. Alternating with the sheepdog demonstrations are shearing demonstrations. This approach has been well received in years past.
If you attend on Saturday, please be prepared to set up in the morning, and if you attend on Sunday, be prepared to tear down in the afternoon
This is a fun venue with sheep and fiber-related educational activities, as well as a sheep show. Our volunteers are treated to free admission and a free lunch of their choice from the food vendors offered at Lambtown. In addition, our RESDA club profits nicely from this event, which makes it possible for us to continue to keep our entry fees low for our ranch trials and offer members benefits such as clinic scholarships..
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Colleen Duncan, and she will add you to the gate list.
